COLOUR IN THE CITY

      

       Bonjour! Remember when we were kids and all we had to do was wake up, put on our uniforms and run out the door? Funny how easy and stress free getting ready was. Then we got older and suddenly we had to dress up every single day, create different outfits and stare blankly at our hectic wardrobes trying to figure out how so many clothes equaled nothing to wear! That's when we realized that as much fun as dressing up is... it can be a little challenging sometimes, especially when you hit that creative block! It happens to the best of us.
       So when this happens how about you try taking a deep breath, closing your eyes and imagine you're Michelangelo and your body is the ceiling of the Sistine Chapel...it just might kick start the creativity within ( There's a reason the Sistine chapel ceiling wasn't covered in stick figures)
       You can draw inspiration from the randomest things. Take us for example, we drew inspiration for the outfits in this post from Ketchup and.....wait for it.....Mustard! CONDIMENTS! It doesn't get more random than that.

        After so much black on black, it's nice every now and then to see a little colour in the city.

SHORTIES

 When it's July and the sun takes a break from hibernation and comes out to play....you better come out looking like it's been summer all day everyday!! It's a rare opportunity......RUN WITH IT!
       Shorts …Hot-pants, Booty shorts, Short shorts, these beauties come in  many styles, fabrics, prints and colors. Shorts just might be one of the most popular must-haves in every woman’s wardrobe. They give you the same cool, breezy feeling as a skirt, only with them on you can sit any way you want and not panic about having a peek-a-boo moment. Those who love to dress in casual, yet sexy and flattering outfits will definitely have these versatile pieces in more than one design. 

     Shorts have been around for more than half a century now, gracing the behinds of countless women since.The trick is to flatter your shape and size, balance the top with accessories up or down accordingly, and strut it!!!!!

   Actually shorts follow the same principle as skirts – it’s all about the silhouette.As for the pairing top, a good rule to keep in mind is, it's all about balance. If your shorts are loose and baggy wear a tighter top. If your shorts are shorter and tighter, loosen up on top.

 Anchor your look with accessories like a long-chain pendant, sandals, over-sized sunglasses,hats or a block-color bag to add some ‘pop’.

   All in all, no matter what body shape you have, every woman definitely can be flattering in shorts as long as you know what types of shorts look best on your silhouette. 

     Put some accessories, wear flattering footwear, and comfortable tops to disguise any 'work in progress' area you might want to hide.

     But above all, no matter what ‘problem’ you have with your body, self-confidence and your personality are and always will be the number one rule in fashion. It’s important to remember that there is no perfect body type and each shape can be fabulously styled!!! Case and Point..... look at us with our thick thighs & shorts!

YING TO MY YANG

         Imagine a 3 year old and a 1 year old meeting on the playground and instantly knowing they were going to be best friends for a really long time(makes no sense right?!) that's how long we've had telepathy LOL! On the real though you may think we just decided to start up a Style blog because of our undying love for Style...okay yes you're right...BUT there's waaaay more to it.. We have so many things in common and Fashion is just a fraction of them.

    Funny story actually,many people who meet us for the first time think we're sisters and we always wondered how cool it would be if we were related.....then we found out we kinda are....(we were shocked too and of course super excited!!!!!!!!!!!!)

     20 years of friendship is no joke. Kim is the kind of person that can tell when I (Cindy) have an idea for a blog post and complete the look before I even finish explaining it to her as if she read my mind and vice versa, telepathy we tell you!!

      Our brainstorming process for coming up with posts is simply a combination of our strong bond as well as our God-given Gift.

  Art is life to us; and blogging is just that much fun since we get to share our passion for art with the world through our style.

   Well Buds we could talk about how our unique friendship plays a huge role in our blog endlessly but this has to be all for now. S/O to all the ride or die best friends out there.
