SHEER MAGIC

      Aloha beautiful buds.
   On today's episode of StyleBuds, we try our luck with the sheer trend that is clearly here to stay. I bet you've all realised that the days of  sheer tops being reserved for parties and evening wear are long gone.  Today’s sheer blouse tops are appropriate for everything ...from casual wear to the office .   The broad range of options includes everything from classic chiffon, to lightweight cotton and even lace.  The beauty of a sheer blouse is that it can be a classic or even a conservative cut, but the sheerness adds a more feminine design element.
   One of the most obvious ways to style a sheer top is to go with the classic white or ivory version layered over something lacy, for a sexy peekaboo effect.  This look is extremely versatile and can be paired with everything from tailored pants, to a skinny pencil skirt, to casual denim. If  you're a bit of a dare devil you can even go ahead and layer it over a coloured bra for an extra pop of colour. 
      Believe it or not we bought these two tops together on one of our shopping escapeds from the same place. Good thing we went shopping that day. Kim spotted hers first and to be completely honest...I was a little jealous that it wasn't mine then the style gods blessed me with my little number.
      We paired them quite differently just to show how diverse you can be when trying out this look. Cindy chose a mini pencil skirt and went for a quirky chic effect and Kim went with a pair of rugged pants( which FYI she made HERSELF!).

URBAN PREP

          It's been quite a hectic week buds and worst of all the weekend barely lasted two minutes. None the less we're grateful that we get to see another week that will hopefully be filled with new adventures and experience. Now on to today's topic shall we.
           Brace yourself, for you are about to enter into a preppy state of mind (yes...virtual hypnosis is possible). So we took part in another style blogger challenge and this time the theme was......drum rolls please....Preppy. Clean cut, expensive,polished and classic, are some of the things that come to mind when you imagine a preppy look. All you have to do to bring this vision to life is cultivate a simple look with just a few key accessories to tie your wardrobe together. However, looking preppy is more than just throwing on a pastel polo and boat shoes; it's exuding the aura of a specific privileged lifestyle.
          When adding accessories to your outfit, remember to keep it simple and classy. Anything that draws too much attention is a big NO NO.Presenting yourself in the right way can be key to being as preppy as you want (think Blair Waldorf).
            We chose to do two different looks just to show how diverse you can be when dressing preppy. Kim's take was "the new classic". We coined it that way because she put a spin on the traditional sense of preppy and added a certain edge to it. Cindy went with a colour splash edit of preppy (trust .....you can spot her from Mars).

Hey buds.
    Here's a few things you should keep in mind when it comes to black and white looks . First of all: it's super easy. We've all had those days when you want to up and go but there's just not enough time to coordinate colours..#EmoDays. On those days you can never go wrong with black & white. Second: it's flattering. These colours look as amazing together as they do apart. Black as we all know is sliming and white makes you seem quite angelic (..........even though your not). Lastly : Black and white almost always look chic and clean cut. This ying yang combination is universal, very appealing and easily creates a fusion with your personality and comfort level.
     We decided to balance our looks out...you know....putting a little StyleBuds spin on it.

If you cant go a full day without colour yes..you're an addict..no judgement though... don't  panic! You can sneak in some colour with an accessory or a pair of shoes with a pop of colour. You're Welcome!
