COLD PURSUIT

Buds, how confusing is this Nairobi weather? Like seriously....one minute you're stepping out ready for the sun....the next minute you're dancing in the rain, and by dancing in the rain we mean frantically running away from it! That's no excuse for you to put on a dull outfit though. Yessss it might be chilly and gloomy but you can always set fire to the rain with what you wear.
Lovers of grunge fashion....this is the perfect weather for us. The grunge look and layering go hand in hand with this kind of weather. Layering fosters creativity because every item of clothing you add on makes your outfit a tad bit more interesting.Besides...who'd love a sandwich with just one layer?!?
This is clearly a free pass to throw on that sweater with that scarf, zip up those boots and just embrace the cold weather. We don't know how long it's here to stay anyway so y'all might as well be friends.

TO DYE FOR!

Ola beautiful people. Today on the blog threads meet dye. There is just something so peculiar and intriguing about tie-dye which also has a psychedelic aspect....you know...if you tilt your head to the right side and stare at it for hours.
Tie-dye is not a new invention; it has roots in Indian bandhani and Japanese shibori, both dyeing techniques that involve binding areas of fabric before dyeing to create colour  patterns.Tie-dye became a mainstream fashion starting in the 1990's because when you're so cool you obviously have to wait a little before you go mainstream.Tie dyeing gets your creative juices flowing. The process may sound simple but in the actual fact making it trendy and wonderfully designed depends on your creativity. It's timeless with undeniable fact....hello it's 2015 and we're still rocking it! Tie dye items also never fade, this element of fashion is timeless meaning you will never be out of style wearing it. It is a trend we all can embrace and it doesn't always mean neon swirls of colour and hippies who smoke weed all day.

CUT FROM THE SAME CLOTHE

Hey buds. Happy Easter!!!! Hoping your long weekend is on fleek and stylish as ever. Today we’re getting in tune with the culture within. Traditional clothes are one of the most creative forms of expression we Africans use to show our diverse culture. Each pattern and print tells a different story making each item original and beautiful. And the best part......the things you can create with African fabric are limitless how awwesooome is that!!! Each pattern and design although colourful and rich on the outside is meant to say something about heritage, family and culture.
That being said we were more than glad to take part in a blogger challenge themed ‘African Fashion’.  Okay we have a confession; we are Ankara junkies (addiction of the good kind). Needless to say this was super fun to shoot. Have a look at our take on this challenge.

We hope you enjoyed the cultural safari lovelies. On a side note we’d like to take this opportunity to pass our condolences to the families of the victims of the Garissa attack may God be with our beautiful country Kenya through this trying time #GarissaWeArePrayingForYou.
